An ancient spider trapped within an amber cocoon for 49 million years has finally been revealed. Using a technique called X-ray computed tomography, researchers were able to identify the fossilized arachnid as a Huntsman spider. The creature belongs to a genus called Eusparassus, which still exist in the tropics and regions in Southern Europe, and can grow up to a foot in diameter. More info, including video, at LiveScience.
