An international team of astronomers has found a galaxy that is farther away from Earth than any other galaxy. Known as EGS-zs8-1, the galaxy lies 13.1 billion light-years from our planet and is one of the earliest galaxies to form in the universe. The scientists found the luminous distant galaxy using data from NASA's Hubble and Spitzer space telescopes and measurements taken at the W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii. More at Discovery News.
