A British psychic famous for using asparagus to forecast the future has made the rather bold prediction that Michelle Obama will be the next president of the United States. Jemima Packington's annual prognostications are something of a fixture at the start of each year, in no small part because of her unique process in which she throws the vegetables in the air and then divines what's to come by how the stalks land on the ground. The Asparamancer, as she is affectionately known, found herself going viral this past weekend when a social media user called attention to a recent interview wherein she predicted that a woman would win November's presidential election.
While many posited that Kamala Harris replacing Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee was a sign that Packington's fantastic forecast could be coming to fruition, the Asparamancer dispelled that interpretation during a Tuesday morning appearance on a British television program (seen above). Asked what her mystical vegetables portend for the presidential race, the psychic offered the surprising prediction that, based on her seeing the letter 'M' in the formation of the stalks, Michelle Obama would be the next occupant of the Oval Office. The unexpected prognostication led astounded host Christine Lampard to amusingly inquire "so you're not getting anything at all from Kamala Harris from the asparagus?"
Answering in the negative, the Asparamancer mused that the former First Lady is "the quiet one who's coming up on the inside rail" in the presidential race. Although she conceded that "anything could happen in America," the psychic stood firm in her prediction that Michelle Obama would win the election. Amazed by what she was hearing, Lampard actually implored Packington to "ask the asparagus one more time, live on air for us, just to see if you're getting the same reading." The mystic happily complied and, upon tossing the stalks, quickly pointed out that they once again formed the letter 'M.'
Pointing to various parts of the piles of veggies, the Asparamancer observed " I do see a little bit of conflict here so it could be that it turns a little bit naughty when it comes to the actual nominations and the elections." Be that as it may, Packington expressed no doubt as to what the asparagus was telling her. Time will tell whether or not the psychic's prediction will come true in November. That said, one cannot help but appreciate that she rolled the proverbial dice with her presidential forecast when she could have easily rested on her initial prediction and possibly be lauded for getting it right if Kamala Harris wins the election.
