Billions of Locusts Descend Upon Africa

A devastating biblical-scale plague of locusts has swept across dozens of African countries. Footage from the region shows billions of the crop-eating insects covering the landscape. One swarm in Kenya measured 37 miles long by 25 miles wide. Locusts consume their own weight in food every day and their swarms can cover up to 90 miles a day. According to estimates, the swarms could grow 500 times larger by June.
