A NASA astronaut aboard the International Space Station captured an amazing photo of auroras spanning the curvature of Earth. The wondrous image was snapped by Josh Cassada, who shared the breathtaking picture on Twitter and marveled that the sight was "absolutely unreal." Although the magnificent light show has captivated observers here on Earth for the past few days, since a pair of sizeable coronal mass ejections reached the planet on Sunday and Monday, the astronaut's photo provides a wholly unique perspective on the phenomenon as seen from space. The stunning sight served as something of a send off for Cassada as he is reportedly scheduled to return home sometime in the next week.
