If there's one thing that can be counted on over the course of every year, it's that miscreants and ne'er-do-wells will find themselves in hot water with the law due to all manner of strange and unusual capers and misadventures. This proved to be the case once again in 2021 as cops throughout America and in countries around the world wound up busting a variety of troublemakers suspected of or outright caught causing criminal commotion. With that in mind, here is this year's installment of C2C's proverbial police log that we've come to call the Bizarre Blotter:
Animal Cruelty: A misguided individual in England stuck a sock on a swan's head and an audacious teenager in Australia filmed herself tricking an adorable quokka into smoking an e-cigarette.
Attempted Murder: A tenant in a high rise apartment complex cut the safety cables of some workers operating outside her home and left them dangling 26 stories up in the air.
Bomb Scare: A 'UFO Detector' found in a New Jersey state forest and ghost hunting equipment accidentally left behind in a British museum by paranormal investigators both sparked bomb scares.
Breaking Quarantine: An Australian man staged a daring bed sheet escape from a government mandated hotel room (seen above).
Burglary: Man pretending to be ghost terrified homeowners in Zimbabwe and then robbed their residences after they fled in fright.
Dangerous Driving: A daring motorist in Florida jumped a drawbridge and a driver in Ohio crashed their car after they let"God take the wheel."
Human Remains or Suspected Human Remains Discovered: Teens exploring 'haunted house' find corpse in freezer, ghost hunters in England stumble upon human skull, and possible remains discovered paranormal investigation in Massachusetts. 'Dead body' discovered by Dutch Police revealed to be realistic snowman and misidentified potato sparks search for 'human remains' in England.
Disorderly Conduct while in Costume: Man wearing werewolf mask and individual dressed as 'monster' busted roaming the streets of Peshawar, Pakistan in two separate incidents. 'Plague Doctor' stopped by police in Britain and 'Michael Myers' taken into custody by cops in Texas.
Filing a False Police Report: Snowbound man in Ukraine confessed to fake murder in the hopes that police will plow his road when they come to arrest him and .an angry telemarketer called the cops pretending to be a rude customer and also 'confessed to murder.'
Harassment: Disgruntled customer waged months-long war on pickle shop in Japan and a criminal gang in Thailand unleashed a cockroach attack on a rival restaurant.
Carpool Violation: Driver in California busted with realistic mannequin riding shotgun, motorist in New York caught with spooky drama mask 'passenger,' driver in Texas stopped with skeleton.
'Psychic' Shenanigans: 'Witch' in Florida accused of $100,000 fraud, tarot reader in Omaha suspected of pulling $20,000 switcheroo on client, 'fortune teller' in California busted for allegedly bilking 'cursed' customer out of $50,000.
Improper Discharge of a Firearm: Kentucky man fired several rounds out of his hotel window after purportedly seeing aliens lurking the parking lot.
Smuggling: New Zealand duo caught trying to sneak a horde of KFC past quarantined border and massive haul of spiders and cockroaches discovered in luggage of German tourist leaving Colombia.
Stabbing: Overzealous haunted house performer accidentally stabs boy's foot with real knife and New Orleans street performer dressed as Chupabaca allegedly stabs person during altercation.
Theft: 'World's Longest Rabbit' bun-napped in England and an industrious thief in Hong Kong used a hook on a long stick to snatch a purse from tenth-story apartment. Bigfoot Bandits stole Sasquatch statues in North Carolina, Nebraska, and Ohio.
Trespassing: American tourists busted for breaking into Roman Colosseum to drink beer, a group of revelers broke quarantine in England to visit Stonehenge at 1:30 in the morning, and a Flat Earth enthusiast in New York was taken into custody after he refused to stop talking about the controversial conspiracy theory at a city council meeting.
Vandalism: In England, a 'Phantom Lumberjack' cut down more than 30 trees throughout multiple communities, while pranksters doused homes and cars with baked beans as part of a social media craze called 'beaning.'
