A Canadian man found himself in hot water with the law after he allegedly went after some police officers while wielding a rather weird weapon: a block of cheese. The bizarre incident reportedly occurred earlier this month in the city of St. John's, Newfoundland where cops were called out to a residence regarding a domestic disturbance. According to a police report, when officers arrived at the home, they "encountered a very irate male," who apparently did not take too kindly to their visit.
For reasons that sadly go unexplained, authorities say that the angry man "assaulted the officers with a block of cheese" before being subdued and arrested for the strange attack. While the specific kind of cheese used in the incident went unmentioned by police, it is said that the cops did not require medical attention, leaving one to surmise that it may have been of the soft variety, perhaps a feta or mascarpone. As one might imagine, news of the odd bust sparked all manner of puns and jokes on social media, including one astute observer who mused that the man was "up to no gouda."
