In a bizarre story out of Nigeria, a man described as a celebrity witch doctor has been kidnapped in a deadly incident that has cast doubt upon his purported magic powers. The wild abduction reportedly occurred this past Sunday evening in the town of Oba when armed intruders burst into the hotel room of Akwa Okuko Tiwari Aki, who is a self-proclaimed sorcerer of some renown in the country by way of his friendship with Nigerian celebrities and his lavish lifestyle. Upon gaining entry to where the witch doctor was staying, the gunmen proceeded to kill two of his bodyguards and then fled the building with the captured sorcerer.
Responding to the witch doctor being kidnapped, authorities "ordered that operatives go after his abductors and ensure his release." Meanwhile, the deadly nature of the crime has left many wondering if the celebrity sorcerer is truly as powerful as he claims. To that end, an individual familiar with the situation observed to a Nigerian media outlet that "despite the fact he prepares disappearance and anti-bullet charms for many people, the kidnappers still succeeded in taking him away." As of now, Akwa Okuko Tiwari Aki's abductors have yet to make their intentions known, though one hopes that the witch doctor will ultimately be set free and that he can somehow explain why his magic powers failed him when he and his associates needed them the most.
