Image 2) Curiosity Sol 1409 sea urchin shell. The shell shows perfect parallel lines of pale material with darker orange lines between. Look at the rows of perfect, identical pores in the darker material.

Image 3) Curiosity Sol 309 urchin shell with Aristotle's lantern feature in the center. This is the part of the urchin that moves the teeth of the organism.

Image 4) The imprint of an urchin shell left in the rock. Curiosity Sol 1095. The print shows the perfectly round margin and the central mouth, with radial lines extending outward. Only a sea urchin can make this marking.
