Creepy Clown Faces Justice in Northern Ireland

By Tim Binnall

A man in Northern Ireland will soon be paying the price for a misguided prank wherein he donned a creepy clown mask and menaced a group of people. According to a local media report, the odd incident occurred last August in the community of Portadown when police were alerted to a haunting harlequin lingering outside a home. When cops arrived on the scene, a trio of witnesses explained that they confronted the creepy clown, who chillingly pointed a hunting knife at them and then fled the area towards a nearby school.

Authorities eventually arrested Portadown resident Aaron Killops, who confessed to being the creepy clown after a search of his home yielded the unnerving mask as well as the hunting knife. Facing the proverbial circus music at a hearing last week, the 40-year-old man offered no explanation for his audacious antics. That said, he did plead guilty to several charges for which he will be sentenced later this spring, including marijuana possession, which may provide some clue as to why he thought it would be a good idea to roam the streets dressed as a knife-wielding clown.
