Walt Disney World visitors were understandably aggravated over the weekend when the park's Haunted Mansion ride had to be temporarily shut down due to a guest scattering their loved one's ashes on the popular attraction. The unsettling incident, which reportedly occurred this past Saturday, came to light by way of a Reddit post from an annoyed individual who witnessed the weirdness unfold. "As I write this, Haunted Mansion is down and being evacuated," the peeved parkgoer lamented, "due to someone spreading human ashes on the ride."
Lambasting the ash-spreader for their "selfishness," the witness painted a rather grim picture of what would become of the scattered remains. "Your loved one's ashes are going to be vacuumed up into a bucket with mouse droppings and other detritus and thrown in the garbage," they wrote, "I can't think of a more ignominious end to someone I cared for." Beyond that bit of bad karma, the witness observed that the individual who caused the Haunted Mansion stoppage could wind up being banned from Disney World due to their actions since "there are cameras all throughout the ride."
