A tantalizing dossier of classified British files related to the UFO phenomenon may finally be available to researchers next month.
The collection had originally been scheduled for release by the British government in 2013 when it declassified a slew of other UFO files.
However, for reasons unexplained, 18 files were held back at the time, which, as one might expect, raised eyebrows among UFO researchers who wondered what may have caused them to remain classified.
Following an FOIA fight over the files, they were eventually to be unveiled this past March, but again were kept hidden with BREXIT being blamed for the delay.
Fortunately, UFO researchers continued to doggedly pursue the files and Britain's National Archives has said that the release of the dossier should happen shortly after the UK general election on June 8th.
As to what may be contained in the files, UFO enthusiasts may want to temper their expectations as researchers from the UK say that the dossier is unlikely to contain the long-sought-after 'smoking gun' that will solve the enigma.
Nonetheless, much like the JFK assassination files which may be released later this year, there may be some nugget of information to be found in the documents which could be a proverbial missing puzzle piece that has eluded researchers so far.
Specifically, there is speculation that insights into the infamous RAF Bentwaters Incident, dubbed 'Britain's Roswell,' could be among the details previously hidden in the dossier.
Whether that proves to be the case or, as some suspect, the now-notorious UFO dossier is merely more paperwork for a field that is already swimming in fruitless files should be answered sometime this summer.
