A self-described 'fortune teller' wanted by police in Pennsylvania has been found in Florida after managing to evade capture for weeks. Authorities in the community of North Huntingdon issued an arrest warrant for Alexis Candy Mitchell back in February after a resident reported that the purported clairvoyant, who uses the moniker 'Psychic Novena,' had bilked him out of more than $10,000. At the time, cops indicated that they had no idea where she might be located, however the proverbial psychic search came to an end on Monday night when police in Florida were enlisted to take her into custody after she had been tracked down to the city of Delray Beach.
In announcing the capture on Facebook, the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office had a little fun with the news, declaring that the "fortune teller didn't see her arrest coming." Rather than using a psychic to locate Mitchell, they indicated that it was simply the result of good old-fashioned police work on the part of their Fugitive Apprehension Unit, which had determined Mitchell's whereabouts following a weeks-long hunt. While the 'fortune teller' will eventually have her day in court to answer to the multiple crimes for which she has been charged, the sheriff's office amusingly indicated that "as for now, Mitchell's future is clear to include incarceration" in a Florida jail as she awaits extradition to Pennsylvania.
