Every town's got one: the place locals know for its eerie appearance, unusual activity, or paranormal history. In Newcastle, England, that place is Lit & Phil, a library many call the city's most haunted place. Most recently, a team of 24—comprised of an organization GHOSTNortheast and curious members of the public—staked out the building on an overnight investigation, and they were stunned by what they reportedly found.
Equipped with video, sound, and photographic equipment, some of the group claimed to have witnessed a pair of large doors opening on their own that night; another amateur investigator said they captured a photo of a ghostly figure. And although GHOSTNortheast have been heading up the library expeditions for over a decade, one representative said even he was spooked by this latest bit of evidence.
For some staff at the library, though, there's no cause for alarm. The activity detected in the building is that of "friendly ghosts," they maintain.
