A relative of Elvis Presley claims to have had an eerie experience that he suspects may have been a visit from the ghost of the legendary musician. The spooky incident occurred last month at the home of Billy Smith, who is the second cousin of Graceland's iconic inhabitant. He recounted the tale on his YouTube show, 'Memphis Mafia Kid,' during an episode devoting to pondering a question that has undoubtedly kept many a fan of The King up at night over the last few weeks: if Elvis were alive the coronavirus crisis, would he have quarantined?
After postulating that Elvis would probably be sheltered in place at Graceland with friends and family while also reaching out to the president in an effort to see what he could do to help the situation, Smith revealed a strange thing that happened to him the night prior to recording the video. "I was sitting right here in this spot," he recalled, referencing his couch, when he got tired of watching television and decided to listen to some music from his late great second cousin.
"All of a sudden," Smith said, "it was like a hand touched me" on the shoulder. "I jumped up and got off the couch here and thought it was freezing," he recalled, "then I realized that there was goosebumps and every hair on my body was probably standing straight out. It really freaked me out." Turning to the stereo, he immediately thought that the perceived visitor could have been The King or perhaps Smith grandmother who passed away earlier this year.
"I can't say that it was really anything," he mused, "but, to me, it was almost like maybe it was Elvis or maybe it was my grandmother or maybe both kinda saying 'hey, we're there with you and it's gonna be okay.'" Admitting that he was "still freaked over it," Smith insisted that "it actually happened and things like that I do believe in and it made me feel a lot better." While skeptics will likely dismiss his tale as merely a colorful yarn or his own imagination playing tricks on him, should the ghostly hand really have belonged to Elvis, one can't help but appreciate that he'd visit the Earthly realm to reassure his cousin during these troubling times.
