Ghostly Cries That Terrified Thai Village Found to be From Man Trapped in Well

Residents of a Thai village who were terrified by a series of ghostly cries emanating from a forest can rest easy as authorities investigating the situation found that the source of the spooky sounds was an unfortunate man who had been stuck in a well for three days. The weird case reportedly occurred late last month when people living in the community of Mae Sot began hearing the unnerving wails that they suspected were coming from spirits in the nearby woods. Particularly loud and an intense at night, the eerie sounds so scared the villagers that they refused to venture out at night nor approach the forest to see what could be making the troubling noises.

Hearing reports of the odd commotion unfolding in the village, police descended upon the community to get to the bottom of the odd panic. While searching the forest, authorities were surprised when their shouts were answered by a man whom they eventually found at the bottom of a well. Later identified as a Chinese citizen named Liu Chuanyi, he explained that he had fallen into the hole three days earlier and, since then, he had been shouting for help around once every hour in the hopes of escaping the perilous predicament. While the man likely suspected that his cries had gone unnoticed, as we now know, the villagers actually heard them loud and clear, but the wails were so unsettling, that they were mistaken for spirits.
