The Guinness Book of World Records has officially bestowed the title of 'World's Largest Ouija Board' to an allegedly haunted hotel in Pennsylvania.
Build over a century ago, the Grand Midway Hotel once served as a stopping point for coal miners, but is now the residence of filmmaker Blair Murphy.
According to Murphy, the hotel's long history of haunted activity enticed him to buy the property a few years ago.
However, he says, the paranormal feeling which hung over the property seemed to disappear two years ago when Murphy and his wife had a Ouija Board session which conjured an incredible array of strange activity in the massive home.
"It seemed to kick things up into an entire new level of paranormal activity," he told Guinness, "we were seeing floating people and hearing voices and even the hotel pets were flipping out and reacting to unseen forces."
Since that time, the hotel has been bereft of high strangeness, but the incident inspired Murphy to construct a massive Ouija Board on a flat part of the hotel's roof.
Measuring over 1,300-square-feet, the enormous Ouija Board was completed in October and, following a visit from Guinness, awarded the world record this week.
Considering what Murphy claims happened the last time a Ouija Board was used in the hotel, we hope that the outcome is not magnified when the rooftop version goes into action.
