NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter recently captured images of a crash site on the Moon. According to the space agency, astronomers spotted a rocket body speeding toward the moon late last year. The mysterious object impacted the lunar surface on March 4, 2022, creating a double crater. "Since the origin of the rocket body remains uncertain, the double nature of the crater may indicate its identity," NASA wrote in their release about the incident, noting "no other rocket body impacts on the Moon created double craters."
