Mysterious mounds, curious cryptids, and the infamous Montauk military base were among the fascinating realms explored this past week on Coast to Coast AM. And, here at the C2C website, we told you about a possible shapeshifter filmed in Mexico, a Slovakian lake monster sighting, and a swarm of raccoons that trapped a Washington woman in her home. Check out our round-up of highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.
Curious cryptids took center stage on Sunday night's program as paranormal investigator Tex Wesson detailed his personal experiences with Dogman and his research into Bigfoot. Regarding the former creature, he recounted seeing the beast when he was 16 years old and a subsequent sighting that occurred when he was out searching for Sasquatch. The monstrous Dogman, he recalled, stood around seven feet tall and resembled the Hollywood depiction of a werewolf. On the subject of Sasquatch, Wesson mused that the creature seems to be less aggressive than its canine counterpart and may even fear humans.
A pair of intriguing eyewitness accounts of high strangeness piqued our interest this past week, beginning with a case out of Slovakia, where a group of seasoned hikers reported seeing a sizeable mystery creature emerge from a mountain lake. The country's wildlife experts were at a loss to explain what the weird 'monster' might have been since the alpine location is particularly inhospitable to any animal that could be as big as what the witnesses saw. Meanwhile, over in England, a couple claimed that they had a terrifying encounter with a Dogman while walking through a forest notorious for paranormal activity. The canine cryptid, they said, stood around seven feet tall and resembled the classic Hollywood depiction of a werewolf.
The infamous Montauk military base was in the spotlight on Thursday night's program when researcher Brian Minnick talked about the mysteries and lore surrounding the Long Island location. He noted that the site sported an unusual radar system that disrupted TV reception in the area and, chillingly, also seemed to alter people's moods. The inspiration for the Netflix hit series Stranger Things, he observed that Montauk has become synonymous with an array of fantastic rumors and legends, including UFO sightings and clandestine government projects. To that end, Minnick revealed that there are indications that the military did conduct electronic mind control experiments at the base during the 1960s.
One of the more confounding videos we've seen in a while crossed our desk this past week by way of Mexico, where a backyard security camera captured footage of a dog that seemingly transformed into a human. Many viewers speculated that the astounding scene showed a legendary shapeshifting entity known as a Nahual in Mesoamerican folklore. Meanwhile, more skeptical observers argued that the fantastic footage was simply a hoax or the result of a camera glitch. Other remarkable videos from the week featured a weirdly shaped UFO seen in Taiwan and a little girl who appeared to have her arm pulled by a ghost.
The mysterious mounds and earthwork sites of the Ohio Valley were explored on Monday night's program as Fritz Zimmerman shared insights from his 12 years of investigating these peculiar spots. Indicating that some of these locations date back to 800 BC, he asserted that these areas are home to an array of otherworldly beings including cryptids, Shadow People, and races of dwarfs as well as giants. After recounting his own sighting of a humanoid-shaped black mass at one of the mounds, Zimmerman theorized that these mysterious spots attract shadow figures because the locations act as some kind of portal between the realm of the living and the 'other side.'
By far the weirdest story of the week centered around a swarm of raccoons that trapped a Washington state woman in her home. As detailed by police enlisted to help the unfortunate homeowner, the wild incident saw around 100 of the proverbial trash pandas descend upon the property in search of food. Amazingly, the woman explained to cops on the scene that the arrival of the animals was not altogether unexpected as she has been feeding them for over three decades. However, what had been a handful of hungry raccoons ballooned into a population of dozens, leaving her overwhelmed and unable to leave the house.
