In Coast You Missed It 1/3/25

By Tim Binnall

Psychic predictions for 2025, phone calls from the dead, and mysterious UFO sightings were among the fascinating topics explored this past week on Coast to Coast AM. And, here at the C2C website, we told you about a Sasquatch search that turned tragic, an odd UFO filmed in Turkey, and a high school rivalry that culminated with a poisoned show goat. Check out our round-up of highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.

Coast to Coast AM ushered in 2025 with a New Year's Eve prediction special wherein four separate gifted guests offered their forecasts for the next year. In the first hour, psychic John Russell indicated that 2025 could see an end to the war in Ukraine with a significant event happening in June. Following that, medium Mark Christopher Nelson predicted a major UFO revelation and, chillingly, some kind of plane crash into a large body of water around Washington or Maryland. In the third hour, prophecy expert John Hogue envisioned a surprisingly peaceful year wherein global tensions are reduced rather than exacerbated. Finally, medium Erika Gabriel predicted severe weather events such as hurricanes and tornadoes impacting North America.

Two peculiar videos caught our attention this past week, beginning with a remarkable UFO sighting filmed in Turkey. Spotted from a freeway in the country, the curious anomaly at the center of the footage was a mysterious multi-colored object that hovered in the night sky to the astonishment of the witnesses who caught sight of the oddity. Similarly strange was a video shot by an airline passenger wherein what appeared to be two people could be seen seemingly standing atop a layer of clouds. The footage, which quickly went viral on social media, spawned all manner of theories as to the nature of the perceived figures with some suggesting that they were otherworldly, while others argued that the 'beings' were merely a case of pareidolia in action.

Could someone who has crossed over to the 'other side' contact their loved ones with a phone call? This tantalizing scenario was explored on Monday night's program as Professor of Parapsychology, Cal Cooper, detailed his research into this eerie phenomenon that has been reported on numerous occasions. He indicated that these phone calls usually happen within 24 hours of an individual's passing and, in some remarkable instances, the experiences involve a several-minute-long conversation wherein the recipient only later discovers that their loved one had died earlier in the day or the previous evening. During his appearance, Cooper also reflected on the work of pioneering parapsychologist Dr. Alex Tanous as well as the strangeness of sound.

This past week featured a pair of bizarre busts involving animals that wound up having decidedly different fates. First, in Texas, a teenage girl was arrested for allegedly poisoning her high school rival's show goat. When questioned by police as to what sparked the strange scheme that led to the animal's death, the young woman accused her enemy of cheating in the highly competitive world of livestock exhibition. Meanwhile, in California, cops conducting a routine traffic stop were taken aback when they discovered that the driver was cruising around with a baby spider monkey in his lap. The adorable creature was subsequently seized by police as it is illegal to own the endangered animal in the state.

The UFO phenomenon took center stage on Thursday night's program as author and researcher Micah Hanks talked about his longtime fascination with the subject. Conceding that most cases ultimately wind up having a prosaic explanation, he noted that there are a handful of tantalizing events that remain a mystery. To that end, he recounted the legendary 1964 Lonnie Zamora UFO incident that unfolded in New Mexico. He also mused about the decline in cases wherein the objects leave behind physical evidence, theorizing that this may reflect some change in the proverbial alien agenda. During his appearance, Hanks also discussed UFO whistleblowers and the likelihood of intelligent extraterrestrials existing somewhere in the universe.

A particularly tragic story involving Bigfoot made headlines this past week when it was revealed that two men had recently died while searching for Sasquatch. The unfortunate case came to light when the duo did not return home for Christmas festivities, which prompted an exhaustive search involving over 60 volunteers who scoured Gifford Pinchot National Forest looking for the pair. Sadly, the bodies of the two unnamed men were eventually found after three days with authorities indicating that, due to being ill-prepared for the elements, the Sasquatch seekers had likely died from exposure.
