Developing psychic skills, out-of-body experiences, and the language of Bigfoot were among the fascinating topic explored this past week on Coast to Coast AM. And, here at the C2C website, we told you about a woman who experienced a bizarre dual animal attack, a video purportedly showing an infamous Malaysian ghost, and an alien invasion in Peru that turned out to be a clever hoax. Check out our round-up of highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.
Out-of-body experiences (OBEs) took center stage on Wednesday night's program as Bob Peterson, an expert on the mysterious phenomenon, shared insights into the eerie feeling wherein one's consciousness seemingly detaches from their physical form. Likening an OBE to taking on the characteristics of a ghost, as it allows for a person to walk through walls and journey to far flung corners of the world, he indicated that around 20% of the population have had such experiences and stressed that they are not a sign of mental illness. Noting that in some instances an out-of-body experiencer can communicate with a deceased love one, Peterson posited that this would seem to suggest some kind of cooperation between the realms of the living and the dead.
An infamous Malaysian 'vampire ghost' known as a pontianak popped up in the news twice this past week, beginning with a police officer who claimed to have filmed the unsettling spirit while out on patrol. The chilling footage, which went viral on social media in the country, featured what appeared to be a figure dressed in white and emitting an unnerving wail. Later in the week, a Malaysian influencer caused something of a stir when she shared a series of photos from her vacation and the internet celebrity's fans noticed what seemed to be a curious figure lurking in the background of the otherwise innocuous pictures. As with the officer's footage, the interloper was suspected of being a pontianak by virtue of its long white dress.
Could Bigfoot communicate using some kind of spoken language that is similar in nature to that of humans? This intriguing question was explored on Monday night's program by researcher Ron Morehead and former US Navy linguist Scott Nelson, who pointed to a series of legendary recordings known as the Sierra Sounds as possible proof for just such a scenario. Captured in the early 1970s by Morehead and Alan Berry, the tantalizing tapes feature eerie noises believed to have come from Sasquatch. Having analyzed the recordings, Nelson argued that they feature characteristics that resemble human dialogue, such as distinct inflections and what seems to be a question followed by an answer.
A rather strange saga unfolded this past week in Peru, where residents of a village found themselves being terrorized by suspected aliens that were later revealed to be mischievous miners. The odd case began when people living in a community in the district of Alto Nanay reported being tormented by mysterious beings that possessed the ability to levitate. After one of the eerie interlopers attacked a teenage girl, the villagers called upon the authorities to put an end to the unsettling situation. In response, the Peruvian government dispatched a team of investigators who quickly determined that the 'aliens' were actually a group of men who hoaxed the 'invasion' in order to frighten the community while they conducted an illegal mining operation in a nearby jungle.
A frequent insight shared by those gifted with psychic powers is that these remarkable abilities are actually available to everyone, provided they know how to properly harness them. On Tuesday night's program, seasoned psychic John Russell detailed how the average person can develop their own set of special skills such as psychometry and scrying as well as connecting with a guardian angel and attracting the perfect mate. Dismissing the jargon and byzantine rituals often associated with these abilities and endeavors, he indicated that they really rely on specific techniques. To that end, during his appearance, Russell offered tips for dream interpretation as well as using a Ouija Board.
By far the most bizarre story of the week came by way of Texas, where a woman was attacked by both a snake and a hawk at the same time. While mowing her lawn one afternoon, Peggy Jones was stunned when a snake suddenly fell from the sky and wrapped itself around her arm in an aggressive fashion. Her attempt at ridding herself of the reptile wound up exacerbating the situation as it caught the attention of a hawk that had presumably intended to eat the animal, but inadvertently dropped it onto the unfortunate woman. This led to the bird of prey repeatedly swooping down and clawing at Jones' arm until it finally snatched the snake and flew away, leaving her both bloody and bewildered by the very weird dual animal attack that had just befallen her.
