UFO disclosure, mysterious disappearances, and psychic mediumship were among the fascinating realms explored this past week on Coast to Coast AM. And, here at the C2C website, we told you about a suspected brain discovered on a beach in Wisconsin, a cloud castle spotted in China, and what may be the first-ever sign of alien life detected in the atmosphere of Venus. Check out our round-up of highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.
The UFO phenomenon has garnered considerable attention over the last few years which has led some to suspect that perhaps disclosure is imminent. On Saturday night's program, legendary ufologist Jacques Vallee shared his thoughts on the current state of the field and expressed concern that those who appear poised to reveal the 'truth' about UFOs are also the same 'powers that be' who have kept a lid on the secret for decades. He also posited that independent scientific study of "UFO-related metamaterials" could allow for researchers to bypass official government confirmation of the phenomenon by solving the mystery for themselves. That said, Vallee mused that the answer may be more complex than we suspect and argued that UFOs are probably not merely explorers visiting Earth from space.
The scientific community was electrified this past week with the blockbuster news that a potential sign of alien life was detected in the atmosphere of Venus. The tantalizing discovery centered around the chemical phosphine which is produced here on Earth by way of industrial activity and microorganisms. Since we know there are no factories on Venus, astronomers theorize that the mysterious gas may be the result of some kind of microbial creatures living in the Venusian atmosphere which is far less treacherous than the intensely hot surface of the planet. Although still largely theoretical and subject to future studies, the stunning news may someday be regarded in retrospect as the first discovery of life outside of the Earth.
Cases of mysterious disappearances in National Parks took center stage on Tuesday night's program as investigator David Paulides provided an update on his ongoing investigation into this troubling phenomenon. He asserted that the government does not want the public to know how widespread these incidents are and revealed that an FOIA request for a list of missing person reports from just Yellowstone Park resulted in him being told that it would cost $34,000 to fulfill his request and, shockingly, a complete accounting from all of the national parks would amount to a staggering $1.4 million. During his appearance, Paulides detailed one particularly troubling case in which a teenage girl inexplicably vanished at the park and a weeks-long search only produced the lens cap from her camera and nothing else.
If there's one thing we've learned covering the strange and unusual over the years, it's that Mother Nature can be something of a trickster as evidenced by a pair of wondrous stories this past week. First, in China, bewildered witnesses could not believe their eyes when they looked up at the sky and saw what appeared to be a cloud castle floating in the air. The remarkably distinct 'building,' which drew comparisons to Hogwarts of Harry Potter fame turned out to be an optical illusion known as fata morgana. Meanwhile, in Arkansas, a bizarre scaly object discovered in a field had some wondering if an alien egg had been found. Fortunately, the oddity was not the start of an ET invasion as it was later determined to be a natural geological formation known as a 'dragon stone.'
Drawing on his thirty years as a licensed medium with the Spiritualist Church, Psychic Bob shared insights into hauntings and communication with the 'other side' on Thursday night's program. He explained that there are two kinds of dark forces which can manifest in a haunted location: earthbound spirits, which are ghosts of people who were once alive, and inhuman entities, which are interdimensional forces of a sinister nature. Bob expressed a positive attitude about Ouija Boards, which he likened to cell phones, and indicated that they can be particularly useful in contacting benevolent earthbound spirits. He also discussed the history of Spiritualism, specifically the Fox sisters, who claimed to be able to communicate with the 'great beyond.'
By far the most bizarre story of the week came by way of Wisconsin where a beachcomber stumbled upon a curious bundle of tinfoil that contained what authorities believe is a brain! The suspected organ was found by construction worker Jimmy Senda as he walked along the shore at Samuel Myers Park in the city of Racine. Although he initially thought the fleshy oddity was a chicken breast, a closer inspection led the aghast man to conclude that it was a brain. Authorities promptly confiscated the gruesome find and turned it over to the county medical examiner to determine what, exactly, it was. Where it may have come from is another unsettling mystery altogether with some suggesting that it could have been used in some kind of ritual.
