Indiana State Police Bust Man Driving Motorized Walmart Cart Down Highway

By Tim Binnall

Authorities in Indiana made a bizarre bust earlier this week when they caught a man driving a motorized Walmart cart down the highway. According to a local media report, the truly strange traffic stop occurred at around 5 AM on Monday morning when cops were notified of something rather odd unfolding on Interstate 265. Responding to the call, state trooper Rob Caudill came upon a resident who was behind the wheel of a motorized Walmart cart. However, his vehicle of choice may not have been the weirdest aspect of the case as he was also using the electric-powered carriage to push a construction barrel down the highway.

Detailing the strange story on their Facebook page, the Indiana State Police marveled that "you never know what you will see on the interstate." While the post did not provide any details as to what might have motivated the man's early morning misadventure nor why he was pushing the barrel down the road, cops say that he was taken into custody "with charges pending the prosecutor's review." One presumes that not only will the unnamed driver be subject some kind of punishment for the dangerous drive along the highway, but he will likely face repercussions for also stealing the cart from Walmart in the first place.
