Ever wonder how close you live to a volcano that's ready to blow? Researchers at the U.S. Geological Survey track 169 potentially active volcanoes and assign an alert level to each one: normal (green), advisory (yellow), watch (orange), or warning (red). The Top 10 most dangerous volcanoes are found in Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, and Alaska, which tops the risk areas with 50 volcanoes active since 1760.
An advisory alert for seismic and thermal activity is currently in effect for Mount Cleveland in Alaska. Hawaii's Kilauea volcano, at the highest alert level - warning, continues to erupt and destroy homes and other structures on the island. Check out the interactive map to see if you live near a volcanic hotspot.
