Disgruntled Americans threatening to flee the country if Donald Trump becomes president have a new possible destination aside from the clichéd escape plan of Canada.
Looking for a way to boost their plummeting population, the picturesque Irish island of Inishturk has declared that they will welcome any Americans looking to relocate later this year.
"I've heard there are quite a few people in America looking to move to Ireland and other countries if Donald Trump becomes president," Inishturk official Mary Heanue told Irish Central, "I'd like them to know that we'd love to see them consider moving over here."
The nearly-desolate island boasts a meager population of only 58 people, including a mere three schoolchildren.
With the oft-cited escape plan of grousing Americans being Canada, it stands to reason that our neighbors to the north may not be too happy taking in so many newcomers.
On the other hand, the people of Inishturk appear ready, willing, and able to welcome American expatriates with open arms.
"They'd be given a huge welcome and they'd find this is a fantastic place to live," Heanue assured Irish Central.
So should things not go your way in November, consider the land of Inishturk, where everyone will know your name, because there's barely anyone there.
