In an unsettling story out of Kansas, a youngster's concerns about a monster in their room took a terrifying turn when their babysitter checked for the boogeyman and discovered an intruder hiding under the bed. The nightmare-inducing incident reportedly occurred on Monday evening in the city of Great Bend as the unnamed caregiver was winding down the children's day. In the process, one of the kids expressed unease over what they said was a monster lurking under their bed. Hoping to put the youngster fears to rest and send them off to sleep, the babysitter dutifully checked the spot and was stunned to see a man staring back at her.
Busted by the babysitter, the unnerving intruder scrambled out from beneath the bed, leading to a brief scuffle before the miscreant managed to escape the scene. Cops tracked down the suspect, Martin Villalobos Jr, the following day and charged him with a litany of crimes, including aggravated kidnapping, burglary, and battery as well as child endangerment and several other crimes. He is currently held on a whopping $500,000 bond and faces considerable jail time for the creepy caper. Fortunately, it would appear that the children and babysitter came out of the incident physically unscathed, though one imagines that the frightening moment will haunt all of them for quite some time.
