After a witch doctor bilked his friend out of some money, a fearless Kenyan man stormed the home of the mystic and discovered some eerie implements inside the residence. The weird case reportedly came about when the hero of the story, identified as Basil, learned that a companion had forked over around $600 to the self-described sorceress for her supernatural services. Believing the witch doctor's work to be bunk, he set about trying to reclaim the money for his friend in what wound up being something of a wild pursuit.
Following a series of phone calls with the mystic wherein he pretended to be a prospective client, Basil eventually learned her address and subsequently showed up at her home with plans to confront the witch doctor. However, he lamented, "she had her people at the gate who tipped her off and so she escaped just before I was at her door." Nonetheless, an emboldened Basil entered the apartment and was surprised by what he found. "The place was so dark, and all her paraphernalia was on the floor," he recalled, "we saw a paper written [with] names of people and also photos in some strange pots."
Commendably, Basil continued trying to catch the witch doctor and came up with a rather clever idea. Although he did not know what she looked like, he remembered her voice from their many phone conversations, so he walked around the community where she lived in the hopes of hearing her talking. The plan ultimately wound up working perfectly as Basil stumbled upon the sorceress at a nearby hotel. Faced with possibly being in trouble with the law, the mystic promptly returned the money. "I know many people say I should be scared because I raided a witch doctor's den," Basil mused while reflecting on the strange adventure, "but I am a Christian raised with very strong values. I am not frightened by witchcraft."
