Malaysian Influencer Inadvertently Photographs Ghost?

By Tim Binnall

A popular Malaysian influencer caused her fans to do a double take after she posted a series of photos wherein what appears to be a ghostly figure can be seen behind her. According to a local media report, Ameera Khan shared the spooky pictures on her Instagram last week as she was vacationing in Bali, Indonesia. Seemingly unaware of the eerie anomaly behind her, the influencer simply captioned the images "I can't find whatever I'm looking for in my bag." However, some of her social media followers found their eyes drawn to something rather unusual that was lingering outside a window in the photos.

The oddity in question (seen highlighted below) resembles a figure wearing a long white dress, which many people immediately likened to a legendary vampiric ghost known in Malaysian folklore as a pontianak. While skeptical observers might be inclined to argue that the 'spirit' was simply a reflection, the window in the photos is actually open, which would seem to preclude the possibility that the suspected apparition is a trick of light and shadow. Oddly enough, Khan's images are the second time in just the past few days that the infamous pontianak wound up making headlines as, earlier this week, a police officer in the country claimed to have filmed the unsettling spirit while out on patrol.
