A Michigan woman who won a whopping $500,000 on a scratch ticket says that her good fortune was seemingly foretold by way of a tarot card reading earlier that day. The Genesee County resident, who opted to remain anonymous, told state lottery officials that the remarkable chain of events began when she broke from her normal routine while en route to the soothsaying session. "Once a week, I purchase a few instant games, and I usually always buy them from the same store," she explained, however "the day I won, I was on my way to a Tarot reading," which led her to buy the tickets at a different location.
When meeting with the tarot reader shortly thereafter, the woman was informed that "money would be coming into my life very soon." Amazingly, the lottery winner marveled that "I tried to think of ways this might happen" and gave no thought to the still-to-be-played tickets sitting in her purse. Later that evening, when she finally got around to seeing how she fared, the woman was understandably elated to discover that she had won a life-changing $500,000. She intends to use the money to take a cruise with a friend and pay off her car, while putting the rest of the sizeable prize towards investments. Whether or not that includes a tip for the tarot card reader who predicted her good fortune remains to be seen.
