An unfortunate man in India died after running afoul of an angry group of monkey that pelted him with bricks. The bizarre fatal encounter reportedly occurred when Dharampal Singh was gathering pieces of wood for a ceremonial fire near the village of Baghpat. Unbeknownst to the 72-year-old man, lurking above him were murderous monkeys who had done some collecting of their own, namely bricks from a crumbling building in the area.
Sadly, it seems that Singh's presence in the area was unsettling enough to the simians that they soon turned sinister and began throwing their makeshift weapons at the unsuspecting man. The deluge of debris, believed to be around twenty bricks in total, was swift and brutal. According to Singh's brother, the man was hit all over his body and subsequently died from injuries sustained in the attack.
Rightfully so, the disgusted next of kin put the blame squarely on the animals for his brother's demise, lamenting that "these rogue monkeys are the real culprits and must pay for it." To that end, he called upon local authorities to intervene in the matter and somehow hold the creatures accountable for the killing. Alas, a police official laughed off such a possibility, asking "how can we register the case against monkeys? This will make us a laughingstock."
And so it appears that the ironic fear of the animals making proverbial monkeys out of the authorities have led to the creatures getting away with killing poor Singh. That is, of course, unless his brother and other loved ones decide to take the law into their own hands and seek justice against the animals.
