Gene Cernan was the last man to walk on the moon during the final mission of NASA's Apollo program. Footage from the mission shows the Apollo 17 astronaut, dressed in the latest technology of the time, hopping like a bunny across the lunar surface - something the space agency hopes a new space suit will fix. NASA's latest space suit design allows for better mobility in partial gravity with joint bearings at the hips and knees and boots with flexible soles. Astronauts will also be able to lift their arms over their heads and quick-swap broken parts. NASA is projecting a human-led mission to the moon in the last half of 2024.
