A marketplace in Minneapolis recently unveiled a nightmarish-looking sculpture and they are calling on the public to help name the unsettling seasonal mascot. Detailing the arrival of the artwork in a press release, Midtown Global Market ominously indicated to shoppers that the eerie figure "will be watching over" the galleria throughout the holidays. Explaining that the piece "represents an old, friendly northern snow creature rumored to be more than 200 years old," they insisted that "it's not scary," though people online have largely begged to differ with many expressing horror at the artwork's haunting visage.
Be that as it may, it would appear that the sculpture, which was created by multidisciplinary artist Gustavo Boada, is poised to become a seasonal centerpiece at the marketplace and, as such, they are hoping that the public can help name the creature which is currently just being called "It." From now until December 10th, people can submit their suggestions and then five potential monikers will be picked for an online vote to be held later this month. The lucky individual who comes up with the winning name will receive a $100 gift card to the marketplace and some truly strange bragging rights.
