A peculiar picture snapped by a photographer in Switzerland shows a colorful circular UFO that many have likened to a doughnut and experts are uncertain as to what the oddity could have been. The intriguing image (which can be seen below) was reportedly taken on the evening of November 8th in the city of Zurich by Twitter user 'Eavix1Eavix,' who subsequently posted the photo to social media. At the time, the witness thought he had caught sight of SpaceX's Endeavour capsule as it was returning to Earth and even went so far as to jokingly tweet to company founder Elon Musk that he hoped that was the case as, otherwise, he may have spotted "a doughnut UFO invasion."
However, as the image circulated online, it was soon determined that the Endeavour capsule would not have been visible from Switzerland on the evening that the photo was taken. This, in turn, gave rise to something of a mystery as the anomaly in the photo went from a possible private spacecraft to a bonafide unidentified flying object. As for what it might have been, aside from an alien ship that just so happens to look like a doughnut, two theories have been put forward by scientists. The first is that the oddity could have simply been a bright star that was photographed out of focus. Meanwhile, another suggestion is that it was a rocket launch, although without the specifics of when and where the photo was taken, that explanation is hypothetical.
Strangely enough, since posting the photo that wound up going viral, the Twitter user has since taken the image down from their account and deleted all of their previous tweets. It is uncertain if this was out of embarrassment over having been wrong about the object not being the Endeavor capsule or simply a desire to escape the proverbial fifteen minutes of fame that their picture sparked. There's also the possibility that the witness has been silenced by the doughnut-loving aliens who were caught hovering over Switzerland.
