Born from a mistake while using photo editing software, photographer Bob Rosinsky has created a series of intriguing images he calls “Mid-Century UFOs.” The photographs are captured on film and manipulated in photoshop.
The series uses Rosinky’s own photographs to create the look of mid-20th century photography and imagine a romantic world of startling objects which appear in almost mundane settings. Some could actually be mistaken for authentic UFO pictures, but the fact that they were produced in the 21st century is a comment on and a testament to our changing ideas of what photography can do, and how it may tell the truth and lie at the same time.
