'Psychic Syndicate' Arrested in Australia

By Tim Binnall

Australian authorities have taken down what they say was a syndicate of self-proclaimed psychics who allegedly worked together to swindle money and property from several unfortunate former clients. Police in the Sydney suburb of Punchbowl reportedly arrested purported mystic Tina Montana on Wednesday, charging her with a staggering 13 offenses, including fraud, money laundering, and identity theft. Cops contend that she, her sister, and her partner comprised a crew of criminal clairvoyants who convinced their customers to hand over their hard-earned cash and prized possessions by way of promises that they would be 'psychically cleansed.'

Montana's alleged co-conspirators were arrested for fraud back in August with the proverbial long arm of the law finally snagging her this week. Authorities believe the trio had been operating for around eight years with at least four individuals falling victim to their schemes. While police did not provide precise details surrounding how the group hoodwinked people into paying them, they did showcase some peculiar 'psychic implements' seized in the search of Montana's home, including a crystal ball (seen above), tarot cards, and an odd statue. Investigators believe that there may be more members of the gang yet to be apprehended, though if that is the case, perhaps those individuals were genuinely psychic since they have so far managed to evade arrest.
