Residents of a village in Guatemala are calling on authorities to investigate a slew of mysterious farm animal slayings that some suspect could be the work of the infamous chupacabra. According to a local media report, the curious case is currently unfolding in the community of Tecpan, where various creatures have been found dead under strange circumstances over the last several months. Back in March, a staggering 75 chickens, ducks, and turkeys as well as some pigs were killed by an unknown predator that seemingly drained them of their blood. This was followed by a second incident a few weeks later wherein several other farm animals were taken down in a similar fashion.
The exsanguination of the animals has led many in the village to suggest that their demise was brought about by the notorious bloodsucking creature of cryptozoological lore. "Some neighbors say that it could be the chupacabra," said one resident, "while others say that during the night they have heard what seems to be meowing and have seen a shape of a wolf-like animal at night." Beyond the loss of so many farm animals, many people living in the community are concerned that the predator could eventually begin targeting children. "The truth is not known what kind of animal it is," another resident conceded, "what we are asking the authorities is to pay a little attention to this situation, and to help us identify the animal that is behind all this."
