Deep sea explorers reportedly found a curious object they could not identify off the coast of Southern Alaska during their exploration of an extinct volcano. What they discovered at a depth of about two miles, looked like a shiny golden egg or orb, and it had an inexplicable hole in it.
The researchers were puzzled by the flesh-like orb and even compared it to something out of an X-Files episode or the beginning of a horror movie.
They decided to suction up a sample of the orb using a remotely operated arm. The team speculated it could be an egg casing or part of a sponge. "When our collective knowledge can't identify it, it’s something weird," one of the researchers remarked. More images here.
