NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) captured a giant explosion on the Sun on Friday, November 16th. The monster loop of glowing red plasma was so massive its arc expanded beyond the SDO's camera view. Fortunately, the colossal solar eruption was not aimed at Earth and should have little effect on the planet. Video and more details at Space.com.
