A Texas teenager is in trouble with the law after she allegedly poisoned a show goat that belonged to her high school rival. At the center of the chilling case, which came to light this week, is Aubrey Vanlandingham, who had reportedly served as the president of the Future Farmers of America in the city of Cedar Park. According to police, this past October, security cameras captured the teen brazenly entering the high school club's barn and then forcibly feeding pesticide to a fellow student's show goat. After the unfortunate animal perished from the poisoning, an investigation quickly led cops to Vanlandingham, who initially denied her role in the animal's death before ultimately admitting to the devilish deed with the rather odd explanation that she "doesn't like cheaters."
The teen's reasoning for killing the animal mystified her rival's mother, who mused to the Daily Mail that "you can't even cheat when it comes to showing goats." While the motivation for the chilling crime remains something of a mystery, Vanlandingham's culpability appears to be far less uncertain. Beyond being caught on video, cops also uncovered several disturbing searches on her phone wherein the teen looked up various ways to poison an animal and, in a clumsy attempt at covering her tracks, how to clear one's internet history. Vanlandingham has been charged with felony animal cruelty and could face up to two years in prison and a sizeable fine for the sinister crime.
