Beloved cryptid and pop culture icon Bigfoot has taken on yet another unexpected role as the star of a Georgia campaign aimed at setting the record straight about recycling. According to a local media report, the legendary creature is the hirsute face of the Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority's newly unveiled "Recycling You Can Believe In." Hoping to dispel myths surrounding the practice, they enlisted area filmmaker Brandon Cawood to craft a clever commercial (seen above) wherein Sasquatch shares the truth about trash with a skeptical woman.
In the amusing ad, Bigfoot emerges from behind a tree and muses "many believe I'm just a myth, but recycling in Whitfield County? That's the real deal." Alas, his enthusiasm is dismissed by the woman, who suggests that all garbage "just goes to the landfill." In response, Sasquatch thoughtfully explains that recycled materials are actually hand-sorted in the county "so they can make sure it's clean to send out." Undeterred, the woman posits "then they just send it overseas." To that misconception, the myth-busting monster replies "think again". It subsequently details how the sorted trash is then transformed into common items like cardboard boxes and aluminum cans that circulate "right here in the southeast of the USA."
