A commercial pilot flying from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania reported seeing a puzzling orange-colored UFO that performed a fantastic maneuver in the sky and then seemingly flashed at his aircraft several times. Details of the intriguing sighting were captured in a remarkable recording that features the witness detailing the incident to an air traffic control operator during the February 12th flight. The conversation (which can be heard above) begins with the American Airlines pilot acknowledging the weirdness of what he is about to say, musing that "you're gonna think I'm crazy."
The pilot goes on to report observing "something that just went from right to left to right in a blink and then flashed his lights three or four times and then vanished." Upon being told that there are two aircraft in the vicinity which might account for the odd illumination, the witness expressed skepticism at that suggestion, noting that "this thing went 180 degrees in like a second." In response to that particularly strange observation, the ATC operator amusingly replies "oh goodness" and tells the pilot to contact him if he sees the anomaly again.
This would appear to have happened as the recording continues with what seems to be a later conversation between the two wherein the witness says he is still looking at the UFO and describes it as being a "bright orangey thing that "flashed us like three or four times." Estimating that the object was approximately 60 to 80 miles in front of his aircraft, the pilot confidently tells the ATC operator that "this definitely wasn't an airplane."
