An attorney in Texas found himself on the wrong side of the law when he was cited for roaming a beach while dressed as infamous horror movie villain Michael Myers. The strange incident reportedly occurred on Monday afternoon in the city of Galveston when witnesses reported seeing a mysterious man wielding a bloody knife on the shore of the island community. When cops arrived on the scene, they quickly caught up to the curious character, who was wearing a mask of the iconic 'star' of the Halloween film franchise, and promptly put a stop to his shenanigans, which the man later explained was a prank that had gone wildly awry.
To that end, while investigating the situation, police determined that the 'bloody weapon' was actually fake and, upon being unmasked, the man was revealed to be area attorney Mark Metzger, who was subsequently cited with disorderly conduct. Recounting the strange event to a local TV station, the lawyer said that the purpose behind the puzzling stroll along the beach was to provide "a little bit of positivity in the gloomy doom" unfolding in the area as a tropical storm was headed toward the city. "I just don't think they appreciate it that much," Metzger mused, "I guess there's some people out there that don't have a sense of humor."
For his part, the attorney seemed to find the whole affair rather comical, likening his arrest to a familiar moment from a famous cartoon series. "It felt like a scene out of Scooby-Doo after they handcuffed me and pulled the mask off," he chuckled, "like, 'I would have gotten away with it if wasn't for those meddling Karens, you know?'" Although he expressed some bewilderment over what exactly was illegal about his antics, Metzer indicated that he has no regrets over the prank and even went so far as to say that he would do it all again since it accomplished his goal of giving people a laugh during these difficult times.
