Police in Pakistan busted a mischievous individual who was caught wearing a monster mask in the hopes of frightening unsuspecting people on the street. The troublemaker was reportedly taken into custody on Tuesday evening in the city of Peshawar. News of the odd arrest came by way of Pakistani journalist Naila Inayat who tweeted a video (which can be seen below) of the masked man behind bars and explained that the man "had plans to celebrate independence day by scaring people." With the holiday set to occur this coming Saturday, one presumes that the incident on Tuesday evening was the result of some sort of ill-advised 'test run' of the prank.
In the brief scene showing the man after he'd been arrested, he inexplicably continues to wear the mask, perhaps out of embarrassment over getting busted by the cops. When questioned by police as to why he was wearing the weird visage, the 'monster' appears almost sad and seemingly refuses to answer the question nor reveal his identity. It is uncertain what ultimately became of the man, but one hopes that the authorities simply released him with just a warning not to pull the stunt again. The proverbial Independence Day Monster of Peshawar is actually the second such rascal to be busted in the city this year as cops also arrested a 'wolf boy' at the start of the year.
