A pair of filmmakers have unveiled what they claim to be the mummified remains of a mysterious being that appears to be not of this world. The remarkable reveal of the humanoid creature seemingly sitting cross-legged was reportedly made by documentarians Serena DC and Michael Mazzola, who say that it was found in a Peruvian cave alongside the body of a nine-foot-tall entity. Likening the discovery to "finding Jesus' shroud or the arc of the covenant," DC stressed that, despite their similar appearance, the filmmakers' figures are "very different from the specimen that Jaime Maussan famously presented to the Mexican congress last year."
While the weird bodies have been colloquially dubbed 'alien mummies' due to their otherworldly appearance, the filmmakers actually believe that the creatures could have been denizens of Earth. "We're not now saying we found extraterrestrials," DC explained, "we believe we've found a new species." To that end, the pair asserted that initial scientific testing of the specimens found that their "DNA is 30% unknown" with signs that the genetics of the creatures had been altered "a thousand years ago."
Skeptics will undoubtedly dismiss the pair's claims by pointing to similar figures that were seized at a Peruvian airport last year and subsequently found to be dolls fashioned out of animal bones. In response to the suggestion that their specimens are also fabrications, DC declared that "what we know categorically is that these beings were not physically constructed by humans." The pair plan to showcase the mysterious mummies later this month at a press conference wherein they will present a scientific analysis of the remains.
