A neighborhood in Florida is on edge after a home security camera captured a mysterious machete-wielding man inexplicably visiting residences early in the morning. According to a local media report, the confounding case occurred in the community of Lauderhill earlier this week when a couple heard someone knocking at their door. Since it was around 5:30 AM, the assumed that this person was a salesman getting an early start to his day until they checked their doorbell camera and wound up doing a double take. “I see some random dude knocking on the door with the back of a machete,” the bewildered resident recalled, "then he just disappears as quick as he came."
Making the machete-wielding man all the more mysterious is that he was rather well-dressed given the circumstances, sporting a tucked-in dress shirt and a tie. The couple later asked around the neighborhood about the stranger with a sword and found out that he had actually stopped by the house across the street as well. "We're kind of freaked out," the homeowner understandably said about the curious incident. Beyond the worrisome nature of an individual with a weapon visiting their home, the couple expressed mystification over what the man's purpose could have been. "He didn’t seem like someone lost or confused," the homeowner said, "he seemed very intentional, very business like, like he was dressed for business, just with a machete."
As one might imagine, cops in Lauderhill are interested in getting to the bottom of the mystery as well and have both increased patrols of the area while also calling on residents to see if they may have additional footage of the man with the machete. "I just hope somebody knows who the person is," the homeowner said while also stressing that "we don't want the person coming again, right? So we wanna know exactly who it is that way everyone is aware also." Until and unless the case can be solved, the couple are exercising caution while coming and going from their house and "looking at the cameras a lot more now" in the event that the machete-wielding man makes another visit.
