Video: New Homeowner Finds Creepy Doll with Eerie Message Behind Wall

A new homeowner in England was understandably taken aback when he discovered a creepy doll with a rather eerie note hidden behind a wall in the residence. The unsettling find was reportedly made last Friday as Jonathan Lewis was settling into his new house in the city of Liverpool and noticed a mysterious wire sticking out of a spot under the stairs that appeared to have been boarded over at some point in the past. Curious about the purpose of the wire, he proceeded to make a hole in the wall and subsequently spotted a rag doll sitting on the floor inside a small cavity that had been hidden by plasterboard. As if that were not unnerving enough, alongside the toy was a worrisome message for the new homeowner.

The spooky note began by thanking the reader for "freeing me" and went on to reveal that "my name is Emily. My original owners lived in this house in 1961." The weird missive then took a chilling turn as 'Emily' explained that "I didn't like them so they had to go. All they did was sing and be merry. It was sickening. Stabbing was my choice of death for them, so I hope you have knives." After that chilling 'confession,' the message concludes with a presumably sarcastic "hope you sleep well." As one might imagine, Lewis was initially put off by the ominous note, but he later determined that he was likely on the receiving end of an elaborate prank.

Upon checking with his realtor and some of his new neighbors, Lewis learned that the area of the house where the doll had been discovered was only renovated four or five years ago. As such, he concluded that the discovery was actually just the payoff to a prank that someone had set into motion back when the construction was been done. Although some of his friends have jokingly suggested that Lewis should sell the house to escape the haunted doll, the new homeowner has a sense of humor about the whole affair, indicating that he is already making plans for a Halloween party with Emily serving as the guest of honor.
