A San Antonio man could not believe his eyes when he spotted a puzzling UFO that hovered over a residential neighborhood. According to a local media report, Dan Paul filmed the curious sight back in late September while he was working on a construction job in the city. "It just kind of went across the sky," he recalled, noting that it drifted above a house, "then it went up and disappeared." The odd silvery object mystified the witness, who marveled "I don't know what that is" as he filmed the overhead. Hoping for answers, Paul turned the footage over to a local TV station, which set about trying to solve the mystery.
Upon seeing the footage, MUFON's Texas State Director Ken Jordan noted that the object appeared to be a "diamond-shaped craft," however an enhancement of the video seemingly revealed its Earthly origins. "We went in and did some analysis," he explained, and subsequently found that "it was pretty obvious" that the 'UFO' was merely a Mylar balloon. An official at the San Antonio International Airport echoed that assessment, noting that such objects often 'escape' and wind up causing observers to suspect that they are seeing something from out of this world. While Paul's 'UFO' was probably not extraterrestrial in nature, Jordan stressed that it's important to "give every case the same amount of due diligence, because you never know what's going to turn up."
