A wild video from Alaska shows the moment when an ornery moose chased down a woman walking her dog and kicked her in the head. According to a local media report, the jaw-dropping incident occurred last Thursday evening as Tracy Hansen and her pet pooch, Gunner, were on their usual stroll along a pedestrian path on the side of a highway in the city of Anchorage. Their normally routine walk took a harrowing turn when they caught the attention of a moose that subsequently went on the attack. Captured on film by Kate Timmons, who was riding in a car which passed by the strange scene as it unfolded, the sizeable creature can be seen chasing Hansen down and then waylaying her with a mighty kick.
Looking back on the unsettling encounter, Hansen recalled that she had initially thought that the blow came from a bicyclist who might have inadvertently struck her. However, she quickly deduced the culprit when she realized that a moose which she had passed earlier in the walk was now somehow in front of her. To her credit, Timmons attempted to alert Hansen to the dangerous animal that was in hot pursuit of her before it attacked, but her cries of "watch out" went unheard. Fortunately, she and her family were able to scare the animal off before it could strike again. Hansen required several staples in her head as a result of the attack, but has vowed to continue walking her dog in the area once she is fully recovered, declaring that "the moose won’t stop that."
