Authorities in Pennsylvania have a strange mystery on their hands following the discovery of a taxidermied rhinoceros head that was mysteriously left sitting on a sidewalk. According to a local media report, Cameron Taylor found the odd object as he and his girlfriend were walking their dog along a street in the community of Aspinwall. Recalling the moment when he identified the peculiar piece that had been propped up against a pole along the sidewalk, he declared, "I was disgusted. I was like, 'I think that's a real African black rhino head."
To their credit, rather than bringing the rather rare rhino head home with them, since it would be the perfect conversation starter at their next party, the pair opted to report the find to the police. Cops quickly arrived on the scene and took custody of the odd object, which weighs around 90 pounds. Authorities are now trying to figure out where the rhino head came from and why it was abandoned by the side of the road.
Fortunately, it would seem that they have one fairly significant clue as security camera footage from a spot overlooking the area shows a man wheeling the head down the sidewalk with a dolly and then simply dumping the object and leaving the handcart behind as well. For his part, Taylor noted that there are legal issues involved in trying to sell an African black rhino head and, as such, he theorized that "somebody probably just wanted to get rid of it real quick, the easiest way they possibly knew."
