Police in Peru busted a pair of suspected drug dealers by way of a Valentine's Day-themed scheme wherein a cop dressed as a giant teddy bear to lure them out of their home. The weird arrest reportedly occurred on Tuesday in the city of Lima where authorities believed that a mother and daughter duo were dispensing marijuana and cocaine from their residence. Hoping to confirm their suspicions, police came up with a rather clever ruse in which one of their officers donned a teddy bear costume and stood outside their home with flowers and chocolates. Standing alongside the undercover cop was another individual holding a sign that read "you are my reason to smile."
With it being the eve of Valentine's Day, one of the women understandably thought that this was a romantic gesture on the part of her boyfriend and, as such, left the residence to get her gifts. This allowed police to pounce as they quickly apprehended her and then raided the home, where they found a staggering slew of drugs. An amusing video of the bust as it unfolded shows the costume-clad cop conducting his duties while still dressed as a teddy bear, though having ditched the getup's sizeable head. Later looking back on the successful sting, he joked that "it was a surprise operation for them as part of the day of love."
